endorsing with this project

I am now involved in a brand new project which is combining the artistry of a couple of world class Transforming Turntablists, --DJ Mars and DJ Apollo, another exciting Electronic Percussionist DJ Que, along with some very advanced ideas I have formulated in my mind, both as a musician, and as an Electronic Drummer and Percussionist, for playing a new style of music, based on poly-rhythmodic lines.

. . . . . These ideas come from over 40 years of playing be-bop for a living, and using that expertise, to combine all of this young talent, which will be used as building blocks, for a live performance, inter-active, state of the art, Dance-Performance group. My desire is to take these unique art forms, and convolute them all, into a new form of rhythmic music that utilises the art and creativity of both the DJ and MUSICIAN to take transforming and complex contemporary music, to its next level. We have already had several rehearsals, (have our first album just about ready to record), and the future is NOW at hand. This photo is how I see us on stage!

. . . . . I am writing and arranging all of the tunes, to fit this new format. The band (at 7 pieces), is very excited about this avant-guard venture. I am endorsing several companies, who I have hand picked explicitly for this project. I am building a family of visionary companies, and young musicians that are eager to push the envelope of what can be done, musically, that sounds fresh and exciting, but has its roots in the tradition of some of the old masters, and the styles that they created, and performed in.

. . . .In over 40 years of playing, and all of the successful bands I have put together, and all of the interesting projects I have ever been involved in, this is the most important, complex, and creative endeavour of all.

. . . .The reason is, "ALL" of it is in my head. I'm building, from scratch, the single sounds, with which to build the rhythm tracks, with which to build the tunes, (whose Horn Parts, I am writing), for a new band, all of whom were hand picked by me, from various walks of life, because of their talent and some rather abstract ways of thinking about rhythm, along with having some wonderful musical abilities.

. . . .This group of fine musicians, will be creating some very progressive material, directed at a very knowledgeable dance crowd. I have been given both the ability, and the vision, to make this connection between this new dance format, and modern jazz, at its highest level.

. . . . In the last 7 years I've made an in-depth study of the international dance music scene, and have come to some very interesting conclusions. After listening to hours and hours of music of all kinds, over a long period of time, I finally chose a venue, (for me), that I thought was the "best of the best,"a very Hip form, of "Hip-Hop".

. . . . I did something that very few people could take the enormous time to do, or expend the finances for. I deeply studied and dissected over 400 C.D.s (that I bought), in 5 or 6 different formats, after previewing about 2500 of them, generally, over an eight year time span. All of the successful C.D.s had several things in common.

. . . . As I realised what these things were, and worked on creating building blocks of innovative material in these formats, I found out as companies like E-mu, and Korg, and Sony introduced their new keyboards and rhythm related products, that without any communication between us, I was working on exactly the same style of material.

. . . . In performing at all of the national shows, that I have done, I've come in contact with products, that I think are very interesting, and I could see how they could be implemented musically, but, with a new slant. I always go out of my way, to talk to the inventor, and get some idea of what was in his head, and then pick up any material on these devices, that is available. At least twice, I saw, several months later, there would be an announcement, that this new product (that I saw as being valuable), had been added to one of these major companies product lines. I knew I was on the money, right from the very first day, I started work on this project.

As was mentioned previously, and to complete the story, I met a few young men that I had been searching for, high and low, for over three years. They belong to a group known as the "SPACE TRAVELLERS". They are DJ's and musicians, who have attained international recognition already, and who are at the cutting edge of all of this transforming, DJ music.
